SATTWA – Psychology Club

Sattva is a Psychology Club dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of psychological principles and promoting mental well-being among students. The club provides a platform for students to explore various aspects of psychology, engage in meaningful discussions, and participate in activities that enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of psychology.

Objectives

  • To create a supportive and inclusive community for psychology students, facilitating networking, mentorship, and peer support.
  • To supplement classroom learning through workshops, guest lectures, discussions, and practical application activities.
  • To promote professional development and career readiness in psychology.
  • To raise awareness about mental health and well-being within and beyond the college community.
  • To encourage research interests and provide guidance on research methodologies.
  • To develop leadership skills through active participation and club involvement.

Policy

  • Inclusivity: Sattva welcomes all students regardless of academic background or prior knowledge in psychology.
  • Confidentiality: Personal information shared during discussions will be kept confidential to ensure a safe environment.
  • Participation: Members are encouraged to actively participate and contribute to club growth.

Roles and Responsibilities

A. Executive Committee

  • President: Oversees club activities, leads the committee, represents the club, and ensures policy adherence.
  • Vice-President: Assists the President and coordinates club events and activities.
  • Treasurer: Manages finances, budgeting, fundraising, and financial reporting.
  • Secretary: Maintains records, handles correspondence, and manages communication and online presence.
  • Membership Coordinator: Manages membership, welcomes new members, and maintains communication.
  • Events Coordinator: Plans and organizes events, workshops, and guest lectures.

B. General Members

  • Attend meetings and events regularly.
  • Participate actively in discussions and activities.
  • Support the club’s goals and objectives.
  • Follow the club’s code of conduct and policies.
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful environment.

C. Faculty Advisor

  • Provides academic guidance and support.
  • Reviews club activities and financial matters.
  • Ensures compliance with university regulations.

Disciplinary Procedures

Any violation of the Code of Conduct will be reviewed by the Executive Committee. Appropriate actions will be initiated depending on the nature and severity of the violation.
