SC/ST/OBC & Minority Cell

The SC/ST/OBC & Minority Cell of St. Francis College was set up on 23/09/2022 under the chairmanship of Dr. R. N. Subba Rao. It constitutes one coordinator and three executive members. The primary aim of establishing the Cell, as outlined in the X Plan profile of Higher Education in India under Para 10.B2, is to facilitate the successful execution of reservation policy related to admissions, recruitment, and grievance redressal for socio-economically disadvantaged communities. The Cell also supports students in enhancing academic performance and overall personal and social development.

Objectives

  • To ensure prompt disposal of representations and grievances of SC/ST/OBC/Minority students.
  • To create awareness regarding State and Central Government scholarship programs.
  • To implement follow-up actions in accordance with Government of India and UGC guidelines.
  • To arrange special opportunities to enhance career growth.

Key Functions

  • To disseminate Government of India and Commission decisions and collect annual admission data.
  • To gather reports on education, training, and employment to revise or formulate policies.
  • To function as a Grievance Redressal Cell for students and employees.
  • To undertake additional tasks to strengthen higher education access.

Scope

  • All undergraduate and postgraduate students of the institution.
  • All faculty members, administrative staff, and employees.
  • Visitors, guests, and external stakeholders engaging with the institution.

Grievance Redressal

SC/ST/OBC & Minority students and employees may approach the Cell for resolution of academic, administrative, or social grievances. The Liaison Officer will examine the issues and provide appropriate guidance and assistance.

Grievance Redressal Mechanism

  • Complaints may be submitted to the Liaison Officer by students and employees.
  • The Cell will acknowledge and investigate the complaint under the supervision of the Principal and Director.
  • An impartial investigation will be conducted and corrective measures implemented.
  • Both parties will be given a fair opportunity to present their case.
  • Strict action will be taken to ensure justice.

To be an assisting institution of encouragement to the progressive works of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other backward classes and minority Students of our institution to the changing social realities through the development and application of knowledge towards creating a people-centered and ecologically sustainable society that promotes wellbeing and uplift humanity.

In pursuance of its vision, INSTITUTION organizes teaching, orientation, workshops and other supportive programmes to facilitate the development and competency among Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes and Minority Students.
