Youth Engagement: Gatekeeper Training

The Counselling Cell of St. Francis College, in association with NIMHANS–ICMR and under the guidance of IQAC, organized a two-day workshop on Youth Engagement: Gatekeeper Training on 23rd and 24th September 2025. The program featured interactive sessions on self-care, Q&A discussions, case studies, role-play activities, and video demonstrations, all designed to help students recognize emotional distress, practice empathetic listening, and provide basic psychological first aid. The workshop concluded with student presentations that showcased innovative ideas to strengthen mental health support on campus, including digital poster displays, walkathons, debates, and interactive stalls. The training not only enhanced students’ awareness of mental health but also empowered them to serve as Youth Champions, promoting a culture of care and peer support
